Individual Therapy
Therapy doesn’t have to be about fixing something that’s “wrong.” It can be a place to better understand yourself, navigate what feels tough, and develop new ways of relating to your thoughts, emotions, body, and relationships.
At Sandstone Counseling, we offer individual therapy for adolescents and adults across Massachusetts. Our therapists bring different areas of expertise and approaches to their work, while sharing a commitment to therapy that is collaborative, compassionate, weight-neutral, and identity-affirming.
What we can work on together
People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons. You might be struggling with something specific, moving through a difficult life stage, or noticing that the ways you've learned to cope aren't working as well as they used to.
Our therapists work with concerns including:
Body image
OCD
Grief and life transitions
Stress, burnout, and people-pleasing
Self-esteem and identity exploration
-
There isn't one “right” way to do therapy. We believe therapy works best when it responds to you rather than built around a one-size-fits-all approach.
Depending on your needs and your therapist, your work might incorporate approaches such as CBT, ACT, exposure-based therapy, IFS, attachment-focused work, somatic approaches, and relational therapy. More importantly, you'll work collaboratively with your therapist to understand what feels useful and what doesn't.
-
Individual therapy is available in-person at our Boston office or virtually throughout Massachusetts.
For clients who prefer movement, fresh air, or simply don't love sitting across from someone in a therapy office, we also offer Walk & Talk Therapy, where sessions take place outdoors near our office while you and your therapist walk together.
-
The relationship you have with your therapist matters. Our team includes therapists with different specialties, backgrounds, and styles so you can find someone who feels like a good fit for what you're looking for.
Not sure who to work with? That's okay. Tell us a little about what you're looking for through the contact form, and we'll help connect you with the therapist who may be the best fit.
