Let’s be honest:
If a lot of your mental energy goes toward your body, food, performance, or replaying interactions, it can be hard to feel present in your own life. Over time, things start to feel unsustainable and slowing down doesn’t feel possible.
Maybe you’re…
Feeling trapped by diet culture, food noise, performance expectations, or exercise rules
✓
Taking care of everyone but yourself; saying “no” feels impossible
✓
✓
Wondering if your relationships could feel better
Constantly evaluating how you’re coming across or whether you’re doing “enough”
✓
Feeling like perfectionism gets in the way of trying new things

I’m Jana (she/her)
I founded Sandstone Counseling to help people who feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, perfectionism, and pressure to meet expectations — often at the expense of their own well-being. We specialize in challenges with disordered eating, anxiety and perfectionism.
You’re sick of constantly thinking about your body, if you pushed yourself hard enough at your workout, what you ate today, whether that new coworker actually likes you, if you’ll ever find the right partner…the list is never-ending. Therapy can help you understand these patterns and decide how you want to respond — rather than feeling controlled by them.
We work with folks (14+) of all genders to slow down, build more flexibility, and make choices that move them closer to their goals.
I also offer clinical supervision and consultation for healthcare professionals looking for guidance on eating disorders, over-exercise, and body image.

Do you feel like your brain never turns off? You leave a friend’s house and wonder if you said the right thing, you panic when your boss texts you to talk, or you spiral about whether you’re doing “enough” to get where you want to go. We’ll work on slowing down, quieting the inner critic and trusting yourself.

Many athletes and high performers are used to pushing through discomfort, staying productive, and holding themselves to high standards. Over time, though, constant pressure to achieve can start to affect your mental health, relationships, self-esteem, and ability to feel connected to parts of yourself outside your sport, academics or career.
Whether you are currently involved in athletics, adjusting to life after sports, or simply relate to the pressure of constantly needing to achieve, therapy can provide space to slow down, feel more connected to yourself, and build a healthier relationship with performance and self-worth.

Whether you have an eating disorder or wonder whether you might have a “thing” with food, we can support you in having a better relationship with food, your body and exercise. We’ll work on breaking free from diet culture to practice more flexibility, intuitive eating, and movement that feels good long-term.

Maybe you’re trying to crack the dating app code, feel more connected with your partner, or want friendships & family relationships that actually feel good. We’ll look at relationship patterns, get clear on what you want, and work on communicating boundaries in a kind & direct way.

I offer supervision to pre-licensed and licensed clinicians. I also love consulting with healthcare professionals looking for guidance on eating disorders, over-exercise, or body image.
Areas We Support:
Many people arrive here feeling unsure where they fit or whether therapy is the right step at all.
These are some of the areas we often work with; a short phone consult can help you decide what feels like the best next step.
